What is Ellacor®?

Ellacor® is a novel Micro-Coring technology for the treatment of aging skin. This first-of-its-kind treatment removes micro-portions of excess skin to achieve an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. It does not require invasive surgery or the use of thermal energy.

Indications

The Ellacor® system indicated for use by trained medical professionals for the treatment of moderate-and-severe wrinkles in the mid and lower part of the face in adults aged 22 years or older with Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV (lighter skin types).

Contraindications

The Ellacor® system should not be used on skin defects or lesions such as tumors, keloids or predisposition to keloids, warts, birthmarks, or solar keratosis; mucous membranes; areas within the bony orbital rim; areas with silicone or synthetic implants.

How does the Ellacor® system work?

The Ellacor® system uses a series of hollow needles that are designed to excise full thickness micro-cores of dermal and epidermal tissue. The percentage of skin removed and treatment depth can be customized based on the severity of wrinkles and thickness of the dermal tissue. With each excision, the tissue is removed from the needles  through an integrated suction system treating a 10 mm sq area in less than 3 seconds. The entire procedure can be completed in half an hour.

Recovery after the Procedure

After the excess skin is removed, the body’s natural healing response goes into effect as the dermal tissue quickly realigns to close the cores resulting in improved skin architecture. The Ellacor system’s breakthrough technology allows for rapid healing providing natural-looking results with minimal downtime. Most patients can expect to return to work 3 days after treatment.

Risks of the Procedure

Side effects associated with this procedure may include skin redness, swelling, pain, bruising, crusting, tingling, bleeding, numbness, peeling, or circular marks on skin. Following the instructions of your doctor pre- and post-treatment reduces the risk of these side effects.
